The House of Lords Science and Technology Committee is preparing to grill senior Microsoft executives over the company’s steps to create a secure internet.
The Committee is holding an inquiry into personal internet security. It will this week hear evidence from senior Microsoft executives Jerry Fishenden (Microsoft’s national technology officer) and Matt Lambert (Microsoft’s government affairs director).
The pair will be asked about steps the company has taken to protect its customers online as well as how the technology industry can do more to safeguard the public from internet-based criminals.
The Committee will also ask the executives to explain Microsoft’s record of cooperating with competitors to ensure internet users are protected.
The session takes place on Wednesday at the House of Lords.
