Lucent Technologies Canada’s VPN Gateway 2.0, an enhanced version of Lucent’s standards-based VPN product, has three notable changes, according to Maria Florio, senior marketing manager for the WAN systems group at Lucent Technologies.
The first addition to the product is the Lucent IPSec client which now has a graphical user interface and which, Florio explained, makes it simpler to use.
“All you have to do is enter your user name, your password and your tunnel endpoint, and it initiates the tunnel,” she said. “Once the tunnel’s been initiated, all the rules and all the configurations for that particular user are pushed from our central security management server down to the user.”
All of this ensures that anyone can use it, according to Florio.
