Local search firm buys into mobile ads

Local search solution vendor Call Genie announced today its acquisition of advertising and mobile content delivery company PhoneSpots, which was bought for $5.75-million.

The Oakland, California-basedPhoneSpots will provide its new owner with mobile advertising and mobile content delivery geared toward Call Genie-enabled mobile device users.

The acquisition will also allow Call Genie, which is based out of Toronto, to offer AdExchange with pay-per-call tracking that is compatible with many media and services.
