Konica Minolta updates mobile iOS, Android printing apps

Konica Minolta Business Solutions has updated its iOS and Android mobile apps for printing on its devices.

The company said Wednesday PageScope Mobile iOS App version 4.3 and the PageScope Mobile Android App version 4.0 are now out.

PageScope Mobile is a downloadable application that connects a bizhub K-M multifunction printer with mobile devices, allowing end-users to browse, read, scan and print select documents and images. Once paired via Wi-Fi, users can handle documents in a variety of ways, the company says.

In addition to providing support for recently introduced Konica Minolta devices, PageScope Android 4.0 features integration of Near Field Communications (NFC), a short-range wireless technology that enables data exchange between NFC-supported devices in close proximity. When a compatible NFC tag is affixed to a Konica Minolta bizhub, PageScope Mobile enables communication with the MFP and supports functions including automatic PageScope Mobile App start up, printer registration, as well as printing and scanning.

“The updated PageScope Mobile Apps further support our commitment to enabling mobile accessibility to Konica Minolta devices where and when it’s needed,” Kevin Kern, the company’s senior vice-president of marketing, said in a release.

The PageScope Mobile Apps are available for free download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Click here to download PageScope Mobile iOS App version 4.3 and here to download PageScope Mobile Android App version 4.0.
