ITNavigator purchase to boost Avaya’s cloud offerings

Communications software provider Avaya Inc. is looking to beef up its cloud computing, contact centre, and social media monitoring and management offerings with the acquisition of the software division of Israeli-based ITNavigator Ltd.

Avaya did not say how much the deal will cost but ITNavigator is the second Israeli company the American software firm has bought. In 2012, Avaya purchased video conferencing and telepresence technology firm Radvision Ltd. for $230 million.

“The acquisition of ITNavigator will add key management, reporting and social media capabilities highlighted by their simple, easy to use features,” said Avaya in a statement yesterday. “The acquisition will bolster Avaya’s contact centre solutions for interaction, experience and performance management as well as expand its collaborative cloud portfolio with cloud-based social media, end-to-end- management and unified reporting.”

ITNavigator was founded in 2001. The company specializes in providing solutions for call centres and has also sold Avaya systems to its customers. The company, headquartered in Petah Tikva, has 45 employees. It also has offices in Europe and has business partners in Europe and North America.

Avaya foresees ITNavigator’s technology helping it:

Address social media customers with cloud-based social media monitoring tools that connect to sites such as Facebook, Twitter and others. ITNavigator’s Social Media Gateway (SMG) can be used as a stand-alone cloud or hybrid solution integrated with contact centres.

Expand real-time reporting and monitoring for cloud and contact centre environments. ITNavigator has management and monitoring tools that provide real-time updates of performance indicators.

Enhance Avaya’s cloud, unified communications and contact centre management capabilities. ITNavigator is already the OEM provider for Avaya Contact centre Control Manager. The acquisition tightens the integration between the two companies’ technologies.
