IT World Canada job board reaches 150,000 views

Back in September, JobServe Canada  and IT World Canada launched their information technology job board. Jobs.itworldcanada.com hit a milestone in December, with 150,000 page views.

Partners at JobServe are happy with the recent success, with the first niche board they helped develop.

Companies that post technology jobs on JobServe, also have their jobs advertised on IT World Canada’s job page, which gives them more exposure, according to Josh Flower, the vice-president of sales at JobServe Canada.

The board only features technology-related positions such as network administrators, consultants and executive roles.

“We bring the best audience for those jobs, and can surround the site with lots of great stories and videos about how to succeed in your career. I’m not surprised it’s taken off so well,” Shane Schick, Editor-in-Chief of IT World Canada, says.

Jobs posted on the site have a seven-day limit, so all the jobs on the site any given day are timely. This can help ensure people that they are not applying for a job that has already been filled.

The site has also been revamped to include jobs from all over the world. There were 4,186 jobs in the United States posted on the site within the last seven days, while there were more than 1,100 in Germany and more than 500 available in Australia.

Organizations pay about $300 to post jobs on the site.

Another new element added to the site is related content, including articles, blogs and videos, featured with the job postings.

The job site has also become more available to the public through Facebook and Twitter, where it is now able to reach people it may not have before. There is a new facebook group: http://www.facebook.com/ITJobsCanada and twitter account: http://twitter.com/changeITlife.

IT World Canada’s Jeff Radecki and Mat Pancha designed the Web site, while the search engine component was developed by JobServe Canada. JobServe is a company originally from the United Kingdom that entered the Canadian market when it bought JobShark.
