Information Builders has announced the appointment of Frank J. Vella as its new chief executive officer, who says he’s focused on the bigger data challenges of today’s world.
Vella will be replacing the New York-based firm’s founder and CEO Gerald D. Cohen, who maintained the CEO position for 43 years and worked closely with Frank since late 2017. Cohen will remain the company’s chairman of the board and senior advisor, according to a press release, which also praised the company culture he helped foster in addition to the focus on solving business problems. Information Builders is well-known for its business intelligence, analytics and data management solutions, and has worked closely with many Canadian organizations, including the York Regional Police in Ontario.
“With R&D investments in advanced analytics, we will make trusted data easy to access and sophisticated analytics easy to create and consume,” said Vella. “Information Builders will be at the forefront of providing data and analytics at scale.”
Cohen said he’s looking forward to working alongside Vella to meet “the next generation of data requirements.”
Vella joined Information Builders November 2017 as chief operating officer. He oversaw the launch of the new WebFOCUS, the company’s flagship analytics platform, and made significant investments, according to the company, towards modernizing processes and technology for operational improvements and efficiencies.
