IBM nabs storage software developer

In a move to boost its storage resource management software platform, IBM Corp. Thursday acquired TrelliSoft Corp. for an undisclosed amount.

The deal, which closed Thursday, allows IBM’s Tivoli Software division to immediately begin selling TrelliSoft’s storage resource management suite: StorageAlert.

According to IBM the software will be integrated into IBM’s Software Group and will complement SRM products currently in development by IBM.

The StorageAlert suite was programmed in Java and supports multiple operating systems, including Windows, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX Netware, Linux, and others. The suite is comprised of StorageAlert/OS, StorageAlert/Apps, StorageAlert/SAN, StorageAlert/NAS, and StorageChargeback.

The software also supports a number of databases including Oracle, MS SQL Server, Interbase, DB2/UDB, and Sybase.

TrelliSoft was founded in 1999 and is based in Glen Ellyn, Ill.
