Hewlett-Packard Co. and EMC Corp. have announced offerings to enhance Microsoft’s virtualization environments.
HP introduced additions to its portfolio of servers, storage, software and services including interoperability of Microsoft virtualization technologies with HP enterprise hardware and software offerings (HP ProLiant, HP BladeSystem servers, HP StorageWorks, HP Thin Client, and HP software.)
The manufacturer said the support covers Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V and Hyper-V Server, a standalone server virtualization application.
Also, the companies reveled HP Microsoft Virtualization Infrastructure Service offerings to help customers evaluate the potential for and then help migrate to virtualization. In addition, HP Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Service will provide customers with an understanding of HP VDI, which includes Citrix Xen Desktop.
Among EMC’s offerings is technology support for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V and Microsoft System Center Management suite as well as assessment and planning services.
EMC also announced design services for application virtualization with Microsoft Application Virtualization and Windows Server Terminal Services implementation.
