Homeland Security to create cybersecurity R&D centre
A research and development cybersecurity centre will be created by the U.S.
Department of Homeland Security, says Charles McQueary, DHS’s undersecretary for science and technology.
The DHS will partner with the National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The centre’s primary goals: to conduct cybersecurity research; foster public- and private-sector communication; support the department’s information analysis and infrastructure protection mission; and work with NSF on educational programs.
