From Reddit – Nissan is taking a different approach to this autonomous car future. At CES this week the Japanese-company revealed its new brain-to-vehicle technology, or B2V as Nissan calls it, that promises to ‘speed up reaction time for drivers and will lead to cars that keep adapting to make driving more enjoyable’. What this means is that in theory if your car is connected to your brain, this driver assist technology could improve reaction times and enhance manual driving by beginning intended movements 0.2 to 0.5 seconds faster than the driver. Looks like everyone is living in 2018, but Nissan’s in 3018.

From Google Trends – Heading into 2018 it was rumored that Samsung would be the first to debut under-the-glass fingerprint technology in smartphones, but it looks like a company called Vivo beat the smartphone giant to the punch. The China-based Vivo became the first to debut under-the-glass fingerprint technology at CES this week called Synaptics Clear ID. This would allow smartphones that have ditched the home button to still have a familiar fingerprint sensor by positioning the sensor between the display glass and the OLED panel. Apple caught a lot of flack for ditching the fingerprint sensor on the iPhone X, but with this technology already floating around, expect to see a lot more of it throughout the year.

And from Linkedin – Amazon CEO, and Lex Luther impressionist, Jeff Bezos is officially the richest person of all time. According to Bloomberg’s billionaire tracker, Bezos’ net worth reached $105.1 billion on Monday due to another hike in Amazon stock. Bezos owns 78.9 million shares of Amazon stock, so the 1.4 per cent hike on Monday supposedly added about $1.4 billion to his net worth. He takes this title from Bill Gates, who is reportedly now worth $93.3 billion. However, if you take the Microsoft founder’s charitable contributions into account, Gates would be worth more than 150 billion.
