Mozilla releases a new version of Firefox that it says is faster than Google’s Chrome. You won’t believe who wants your nude photos – it’s Facebook. And Reddit is preparing an IPO.

Trending on Product Hunt is Firefox Quantum. The browser upgrade promises to be the fastest version of Firefox yet. That’s delivered by Mozilla’s approach to fine-grained parallelism, which means you can take advantage of multi-core processors by having them process different components of a website.
Mozilla released a video showing that Firefox Quantum can load 10 of the web’s most popular sites faster than Chrome. Users will notice an entirely new visual style for the browser too.
Trending on Reddit, is a reaction to a partnership between Facebook and an Australian Government agency to prevent the unwanted spread of nude photos. Australia’s e-safety commissioner had advice for citizens worried that an intimate photo might be shared without their consent – send it to yourself with Facebook Messenger. In what may be the most ill-conceived request to “send nudes” ever, Facebook would then create a digital fingerprint of the image to prevent it from being uploaded by others. Judging by the reaction on Reddit, Australia might have to come up with another plan to solve this problem.
And speaking of Reddit, “the front page of the Internet” is considering an initial public offering. This is trending on LinkedIn (which incidentally did its own IPO in 2011). Reddit CEO Steve Huffman says the time frame is “pretty far out,” but that going public “is the only responsible choice.” The firm is currently valued at $1.8 billion. It’s possible Reddit will join a long list of tech brands getting ready to join the stock ticker soon.
