Former Microsoft Corp. (NYSE: MSFT)software architect Raymond Ozzie is among the three latest additions to the board of directors of Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ)
In April, Ray Lane gave up his position as HP’s chairman following shareholder anger over the controversial $10.3 billion purchase by the company of search firm Autonomy. Lane maintained his position on the HP board of directors but two of the company’s longest serving board members, John Hammergen and G. Kennedy Thompson, resigned their seats.

HP said yesterday that the new appointments will bump up the number of HP directors from nine to 12.
Ozzie gained fame for Lotus Notes, a company he sold to IBM.
He joined Microsoft in 1997 when the software company bought Groove Networks, the collaboration software firm he founded. He was chief of software architecture at Microsoft in June 2006 and was Microsoft chief technical officer from April 2005 to June 2006.
Ozzie left Microsoft in 2010 following a disagreement with Steve Sanofsky. Sanofsky, who was president of the Windows division was later let go.
