Finalists for ITAC awards released

A telehealth service for Canada’s north, a cloud archiving system and tablet-based consumer survey solution for retailers are among the 19 finalists that qualified for this year’s ITAC Ingenious Awards.

The Information Technology Association of Canada holds an annual awards ceremony to honour excellence in the use of technology by Canadian-based organizations.

“The nominations were impressive, and clearly demonstrate the integral role information technology plays across sectors ranging from financial services to the marine industry,” ITAC CEO Karna Gupta said in a statement. “On behalf of ITAC and the Ingenious Awards Program, I want to thank all the organizations that participated in the call for entries. You made it very tough for the judging panel.”

Judges from the CIO Association of Canada evaluated 57 entries looking for clear demonstrations of measurable achievement and innovation related to the use of information and communications technology.

A second panel of five judges will review the finalist submissions and determine the winners, who will be announced at the Ingenious Awards Gala Dinner on Nov. 27 in Toronto.
