Advanced Risk Machines Ltd. (ARM) and Esterel Technologies Inc. are combining their technologies to make a software package for safety systems in automotive and industrial control applications. The software will include RealView Compilation Tools, made by Cambridge, U.K.-based ARM, and the SCADE Suite software developed by Elancourt, France-based Esterel.
The combined offering will generate, compile and debug code, the vendors say SCADE Suite is designed to generate code that complies with IEDC specification 61508, a standard which specify the functional safety of electrical systems.
It is designed to work with two of ARM’s processors, the Cortex-M3 and Cortex-R4, which is designed for automotive applications and includes error correction coding and memory protection unit features.
