Agilent Technologies Inc. recently introduced a testing service to help equipment vendors and users more easily and affordably complete design verification and pre- and post-certification testing of data-over-cable service interface specification (DOCSIS) equipment, such as North American and Euro cable modems set-top boxes and cable modem termination systems (CMTS). The testing services helps DOCSIS vendors preparing for certification waves, developers characterizing device designs, and services operators evaluation equipment, troubleshooting interoperability performance issues or troubleshooting repetitive “no trouble found” equipment returns. The DOCSIS testing services use the Agilent E1371 DOCSIS design Verification (DV) Test Environment, focuses on selected DOCSIS media access control (MAC) lay specs, and is DOCSIS 1.0 and 1.1 compliant. Canadians are increasingly looking to the Internet as a means to explore online and offline educational options, according to an Ipsos-Reid report. The Canadian Interactive Reid Report , Online Education: What the Future Holds shows online education is poised for significant growth as 59 per cent of Canadian Internet users are likely to take an online course in the future if they were looking to further their education. Already, two per cent have searched the Internet for online courses and just over one-in-ten have either taken an online course (eight per cent) or have taken an in-person course that includes a significant online component (seven per cent).
