Its latest all-in-one offering, the XPS 18 is the world’s lightest AiO computer in the market according to Dell.
The computer’s 18.4-inch full high definition, capacitive touch, 1080p screen makes the idea multimedia AiO for work, casual gaming and family use hitting that “sweet spot” between mobile entertainment and desktop-level productivity.
“The XPS 18 will change the way people define and use a PC today,” said Kirk Schell, VP of the consumer PC group at Dell. “Everyone who uses it is shocked and amazed at how light it is and comfortable to use in a variety of settings.”
The XPS 18’s screen, according to Dell is more than three times the size of the Apple iPad and yet the entire machine is light enough to be passed back and forth between users.
The XPS 18 is powered by third generation Intel Core i or an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, and run’s Microsoft’s touch enhanced Windows 8 operating systems.
The machine is available in a number of configurations that include: an Intel ULV Pentium processor 2117U, with 4GB of RAM and 320GB hard drive all the way to a unit with a Core i7 with 8GB RAM and a choice of 500GB hard drive or optional SSD.
The XPS 18’s battery also allows t to operate for up to five hours between charges. The PC features an aluminum back finish with soft grip for traction and comfort. It comes with a wireless keyboard and mouse and built-in flip-out feet for table top or user lap-based operation.
Dell’s PocketCloud application comes pre-installed. The app helps users build their own personal cloud and helps them remotely manage and access anywhere their personal and professional content.
