Data protection solution provider Datto today announced a new Calgary-based data centre that will target demand by managed service firms on the West Coast.
The new Calgary site complements the company’s existing Toronto data centre, which opened its doors in 2013.
The addition of the Calgary data centre will enable Datto to expand its footprint and reach into Canada, with continued investment in people, infrastructure and facilities; the new location will provide Canadian midmarket and enterprise customers with the same level of data protection afforded by more than 50,000 businesses globally, the company claimed.
This bicoastal data center strategy — which includes Toronto, Calgary and the customer’s local SIRIS device — expands the company’s Canadian footprint and reach and will provide users with local locations to secure data via ”redundant, reliable data centers” said Datto representative Urvish Badiani in a statement.
