CSI Leasing Canada Ltd. has officially launched its mobile data destruction truck in Canada.
The Oakville, Ont.-based subsidiary of the U.S.-based equipment leasing giant said the Data Destruction Recycling Vehicle will travel to customer sites and provide on-location support for IT shops looking to end-of-life their old tape drives, cell phones and hard drives. Several DDRV vehicles, each equipped with a shredder in the bed of the truck, have been rolled out to the U.S. market.
In addition to a Web-based app which allows customers remote access to the disposal jobs, CSI Leasing will also provide a live video feed of the equipment shredder for customers that want even more assurance.
Dan Roberts, the president of CSI Leasing Canada, said he expects multiple DDRVs to hit Canadian streets within the next two years.
