Citrix partners with mobile app maker Webalo

Citrix Systems Inc. has partnered with Webalo Inc., a maker of out-of-the-box mobile technology, to develop bring-your-own-device application deployment tools for enterprise organizations.

With the use of a simple question-and-answer configuration process, Webolo enables business users to create mobile apps for their BYOD-enabled mobile workforce, according to Phil Klahr, VP of client services for the Los Angeles-based company.

“Citrix, a leading provider of EMM (enterprise mobility management) provides the other half of the enterprise mobility solution,” he said in in a recent blog. “It gives the CSO the device and app management security and control required to access critical enterprise data and applications from mobile devices.”

Klahr said Webalo has integrated its self-service mobility platform within the Citrix Worx and XenMobile infrastructure.

The partnership will make Webalo’s technology available to over 250,000 Citrix customers and more than 10,000 Citrix resellers.

Webalo claims its technology enables companies to deploy enterprise mobile apps us to “100 times faster” than traditional mobile application development tools at a fraction of the cost.

This is the second major partnership inked by Webalo this year. In March the company signed an agreement with Symantec Corp. to join the Symantec Sealed Program.
