The Body Shop at Toronto Eaton Centre officially launched its call for help to Stop Violence in the Home by requesting everyone from coast to coast drop off their old, unused cell phones at any of its 112 stores across the country throughout the month of August. All phones that are collected will be sold to a cell phone recycling company with proceeds going to the Canadian Women’s Foundation, Canada’s first and only public foundation for women and girls.
Local dignitaries, representatives from the Canadian Women’s Foundation and recycling experts will attend the in-shop event to show their support for The Body Shop Stop Violence in the Home campaign by being the first to drop off their old, unused cell phones.

The Body Shop STOP Violence Against Women campaign, first launched in 1994, is recognized by the United Nations for raising public awareness of an issue of vital concern to the UN. The campaign has won numerous national and international awards. Most importantly, it has raised the profile of the issue and contributed more than $1.3 million to the Canadian Women’s Foundation.
