The operator of XM Canada, Toronto-based Canadian Satellite Radio Holdings Inc., announced Thursday the appointment of a new vice-president of marketing.
The provider of subscription-based satellite radio entertainment, said it appointed Janet Gillespie to replace Donald McKenzie, who leaves his position as XM Canada’s senior vice-president of sales and marketing.
Gillespie spent the previous eight years at Palm Canada Inc. where she led marketing efforts for Palm handheld computers and smartphones including the Treo smartphone product suite.
It’s the second major leadership change for the satellite radio company. Last November, former Palm Canada president Michael Moskowitz was appointed president of XM.
Last August, when XM Canada hired McKenzie, the firm stated he had 22 years experience in sales and marketing “in a variety of industries,” having worked for Young & Rubicam, Faberge, Cadbury Beverages and CPAS Systems Inc., a Toronto-based pension software developer.
According to his profile on LinkedIn, McKenzie has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario and served in the Canadian Forces from 1974 until 1999.
