Computer Associates International Inc. (CA) released its latest Brightstor storage area network (SAN) solution Tuesday, an offering the Islandia, N.Y. company said is designed to tackle multi-vendor SAN environments.
The enterprise solution, dubbed Brightstor SAN Manager, can be integrated with other CA products – including BrightStor Storage Resource Manager and BrightStor Portal – and uses a single point of control GUI to monitor, manage and troubleshoot heterogeneous SAN environments, CA said.
The solution will support competing storage vendor devices including Brocade, IBM, Hewlett-Packard and EMC, the company said, adding that it incorporates policy-based automation to lessen enterprise storage failures.
BrightStor SAN Manager also can be integrated with Unicenter infrastructure management solutions, CA said – IT departments can link BrightStor SAN Manager to Unicenter Service Level Management, thereby incorporating their SANs into end-to-end infrastructure service level agreements.
