Dell Comuputer Corp. this month launched its new High Performance Computing Clusters (HPCC) program in an attempt to give customers the opportunity to use inexpensive, standards-based servers and processors to build high-performance clustered environments. The Dell HPCC program consists of PowerEdge servers and validated software packages, which are available in 8-, 16-, 32- and 64-node configurations, according to the company. The company also said Dell Technology Consulting, along with MPI Software Technology Inc. and Paralogic, are offering software packages and service packages that included pre-sales consulting, implementation planning, solution design and on-site deployment. Pricing for the bundles, available in Canada after of Feb. 20, begins at US$75,000 for an 8-node cluster. For more information, visit www.
