The Procurve 5300xl series, which starts at $158 per 10/100 port, and offer a lower price for customers looking for Layer 2/3/4 capabilities, according to HP. The HP Procurve 4100gl series, featuring the Switch 4148gl and Switch 4104gl, offer a high performance chassis alternative to stackable switches in a 3U form factor. Last month, Sarasota, Fla.-based Wave Wireless Networking, a division of SPEEDCOMWireless Corp., announced that it would begin shipping its SPEEDLAN 9000 11Mbps routers this month. The SPEEDLAN 9000 offers the user to choose between mesh, star or point-to-point deployment. The SPEEDLAN 9101 and 9104 are mesh only, and the SPEEDLAN 9102 and 9103 can be configured as a simple building-to-building backbone, a point-to-multipoint star topology, or as a self-healing mesh topology. According to the company, it provides a platform which is able to grow with business and can be re-deployed as a company’s needs change. Pricing ranges from US$899 to $1799.
