A Microsoft partner has come up with a way automate the transfer of Office folders to the company’s cloud productivity suite.

Binary Tree Inc. said Friday the latest release of its E2E Complete Exchange migration software helps enterprises move on premise public folders to Office 365, Microsoft’s hosted suite.

Version 3.4 of E2E Complete also includes an enhanced migration process that enables preparation, transition, and activation of folders..

“When Microsoft announced support for public folders in Office 365, it paved the way for companies who had critical business information in their on-premises public folders to finally upgrade to Office 365 and move their full messaging stack to the cloud,” said Vadim Gringolts, Binary Tree’s CTO.

“A large enterprise could have tens of thousands of these folders or more, so you can imagine how significant this has been to any company’s migration plans. Our new release of E2E Complete makes it a truly unique solution to address the complete spectrum of the Exchange migration needs for any size enterprise.”

E2E is a management portal that forecasts the migration and automates the data collection, scheduling, reporting, and user communication processes that are critical to performing a successful migration, the company said. Staff get notified when their migration will occur and can sign up for SMS and email notifications when the migration is done.

It runs on a single server. No agents are needed on Exchange servers.

New features include the ability for administrators to elect which sub-folders of the public folders to migrate within a single Exchange organization; an equalized distribution feature enables a collection of users to be migrated and their mailboxes distributed evenly across multiple servers and databases; and the ability to share directory information between users in separate organizations during cross-forest Exchange migration projects with bi-directional Active Directory-to-Active Directory synchronization.

Binary Tree products are sold in Canada by Compugen, Adeco Tech Inc. of Greely, Ont. and Itergy of Montreal. CGI Inc. also builds solutions around the company’s products.

Other Binary Tree solutions include a managed Exchange to Exchange and Lotus Notes to Exchange software and migration services, as well as Windows Server migration software.
