BellZinc acquires e-marketing firm

Enhanced e-marketing and Web development capabilities for its small- and medium-size enterprise (SME) clients is the logic behind Bell Zinc Corp.’s acquisition of Montreal-based e-marketing firm Cesart Creation, company officials said.

Montreal-based Bell Zinc, a subsidiary unit of Bell Canada, owns and operates BellZinc.ca, an e-business Web portal geared towards SMEs. Bell Zinc currently provides Internet business tools, products and services to approximately 250,000 small business executives across Canada, the company said.

Financial specifics regarding the acquisition were not disclosed.

The acquisition boosts Bell Canada’s commitment in enabling SMEs to “harness the power of the Internet,” said Stephane Marceau, vice-president of marketing and corporate development at Montreal-based Bell Zinc.

Cesart’s offline expertise in e-marketing strategies, online brand positioning, project management, and Web usability and system integration will serve to enhance Bell Zinc’s existing e-business services and online content, Marceau said, adding that Cesart serves to extend Bell Zinc’s offline reach.

“Cesart are experts at what they do, they live and die by the Web,” Marceau said. “With respect to Bell Zinc users, the Cesart services will be explained onsite … Cesart will provide content for the users in specific areas. For each of the Bell Zinc users that require more than online help to leverage the Internet for business, they will have the opportunity to do business with our offline division,” Marceau said.

Bell Zinc Corp. in Montreal is at http://www.bellzinc.ca.
