Assmann Electronic unveils new switches

Assmann Electronic GmbH is extending its DIGITUS brand to meet the needs of medium and large networks by introducing two manageable Gigabit N-Way switches.

The Germany-based company said the gigabit switches come with either 16 or 24 ports, are equipped with 4 SFP ports, and are compatible with IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.3z, and IEEE 802.3x.

The company said the automatic speed adaptation is ideal for developing a central gigabit fibre-optic network. It also noted that the use of several devices can enable networking between buildings beyond a 100 metre limit.

The suggested retail price for the 16 Port Switch DN-8021B is roughly $400, while the 24 Port Switch DN-8022B will cost about $490.
