With WikiLeaks head Julian Assange still seeking refuge in an embassy in London, the hackvitist group Anonynous claims to have launched distributed denial-of-service attacks against the U.K. Justice Department, the British prime minister’s Web site and the Department of Work and Pension.
This story from CNET quotes the Justice department on Monday night saying its Web site was “experiencing some disruptions.”

Meanwhile the British news site The Guardian reports that while Prime Minister David Cameron wants a diplomatic solution to the confrontation with Ecuador, it will not allow Assange to leave the country. Assange has been granted political asylum after fleeing to the embassy when he was ordered extradited to Sweden to face sexual assault allegations.
Assange apparently fears once in Sweden he’ll be extradited to the U.S. to face charges over the publishing by WikiLeaks of U.S. military documents. He was arrested in London in 2010 on those allegations.
