More than a third of respondents to an online poll said the secret collection and analysis of vast amounts of Internet data by the U.S. government said they had expected such a thing to happen.
Thirty-six per cent of respondents to a poll by data analysis blog KDNuggets answered that Project Prism — under which the National Security Administration collected personal data on Web users directly from ISPs — was “No big deal, I expected something like this to happen.” I further 1.3 per cent didn’t care.

That didn’t mean there wasn’t anger out there. Fifty-five per cent said they were “outraged” by snooping. Interestingly, respondents in Europe — with a tougher privacy regimen — where more likely to describe themselves as “outraged” (66 per cent) than in North America (56 per cent).
In the rest of the world, only 39 per cent described themselves at outraged. Almost two thirds (60 per cent) called it no big deal.
