PUBLIC SECTOR WINNER: CORINNE CHARETTE
Corrine Charette won the 2014 CIO of the Year award (Public Sector) for having led the Government of Canada through a tumultuous period, working through government transformation pressures, reduced budgets, and workplace volatility.
Several key private- and public-sector positions prepared Charette for her term as CIO of the Government of Canada. Charette sharpened her skills at IBM Global Services, KPMG Consulting, Desjardins, and VIA Rail, and along the way has served as: Vice-President and Chief Information Officer at Transat AT; Senior Vice-President of CIBC’s Internet channel, retail, and small business banking; and as Deputy Director and CIO of the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada, which is Ottawa’s money-laundering and terrorist-financing watchdog.
