In Microsoft’s Artificial Intelligence and Research group, I work with some of the smartest people in the world to help define the future and change the world through technology.

I joined Microsoft 21 years ago and have worked on both research and product. From computer vision and graphics research to establishing the Microsoft Research Asia lab to leading engineering for Bing and leading Microsoft Research globally, my experience has given me a unique perspective. In research, our work is focused on what’s new. In product development, it’s about balancing product features, quality and schedules. Now, I lead a team that is merging these dualities together. I am an optimist. We are working every day to bring the best innovations to the world, pushing AI out of the labs and into the mainstream. There is still so much to learn and deliver around AI and research. We are just starting to scratch the surface of what it can do to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.
