SharePoint collaboration vendor Colligo has integrated its Briefcase iPad and iPhone collaboration app integrates with the MobileIron AppConnect ecosystem. The integration will allow users to collaborate on business content through SharePoint, Office 365 and OneDrive from their own iOS devices while enabling network managers to exercise security controls.
Colligo says that MobileIron AppConnect containerizes Colligo Briefcase to add enterprise level protection without coming in contact with personal data on the mobile device while maintaining a uniform user experience. Corporate data on Colligo Briefcase is encrypted, protected from unauthorized access, and removable. Because each user has multiple business apps, using Briefcase with AppConnect links it to other secure apps, which enabling the sharing of policies and data.
MobileIron specializes in delivering security and management across mobile platforms and makes its AppConnect technology available to third party mobile application developers. With MobileIron AppConnect apps, companies can deliver third-party application experiences to corporate users through apps enabled with auto-configuration, data containerization, and secure tunneling to protect corporate data.
MobileIron’s AppTunnel provides tunneling and access control to protect data flowing from SharePoint to Briefcase without requiring the use of a VPN. The beefed up security is invisible to the user and offers the convenience of seamless connectivity anywhere to on-premises SharePoint servers.
