Frontline workers not getting enough BI: Survey
“Our agreement with Sage recognizes the customer experience that makes Sage Enterprise Intelligence so unique with a true self-service BI solution that any business user can easily access and use,” states Greg Brown, president of Tangerine Software, in a statement. “It will bring the full power of BI, mobility and big data processing to Sage mid-market customers. We look forward to working closely with Sage to accelerate innovation for Sage customers, in North America as well as globally.
Tangerine’s BI tools help to fill a gap in Sage’s product portfolio said Joe Langer, executive vice-president and general manager of midmarket solutions for Sage North America, in an interview. Sage had reporting tools, but not true BI.
“BI is one of those things that really help educate the customer on the value of using Sage ERP, and so we’re adding it to our portfolio,” said Langer. “If you want additional analytics capabilities, this gives some of our products easier usability.”
Another value, added Lager, is that Sage Enterprise Intelligence can draw on other operational databases, not just Sage ERP.
“This can report on all of them,” said Langer.
In a separate announcement, Sage also launched the Sage Intelligence Reporting Bundle for its Sage 100 ERP, Sage 300 ERP and Sage 500 ERP platforms. It’s designed to help companies quickly obtain operational information by reporting across the business, allowing for the creation and running of custom reporters through a Microsoft Excel interface.
The Sage 100 and Sage 300 bundle also comes with a profitability dashboard that can help companies identify high volume products, top performing salespeople and make quicker decisions.
