Musk goes on media tour to salvage Twitter’s declining ad revenue

Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, is embarking on a media tour to repair the company’s reputation as it confronts commercial issues and dwindling advertisement income. Musk has made public appearances in an attempt to persuade advertisers that Twitter is still a secure and effective venue for their brands.

Musk recently told the BBC that majority of Twitter’s advertisers had returned, although experts believe the company’s ad income is fast dropping. Musk could not cite an example of a single sponsor who left Twitter and later returned.

Musk is expected to meet with NBC Universal’s chief of advertising and partnerships Linda Yaccarino at a conference for mobile advertisers as part of his fence-mending efforts. He’ll be convincing skeptics that Twitter is still a safe and productive venue for their companies. Musk is attempting to defend himself broadly in places where he feels at ease, but his suspicion of the media looms large.

Musk is also interacting with those he trusts and talking directly through his own tweets.
