Two makers of enterprise applications have merged to form a new company called Aptean.
Consona Corp. and CDC Software – which in 2004 bought Vancouver-based CRM software company Pivotal Corp. – said this week they have combined to form the new company.
Together they have 1,500 employees around the world to sell CRM and enterprise resource management solutions to organizations of all sizes. Aptean will be headquartered in Atlanta. It also has offices in Toronto and Vancouver.
“This merger supports our business model and fits with our strategy by increasing Aptean’s exposure in well-defined vertical markets,” Monte Ford, the new company’s president, said in a news release. “Consona and CDC have complementary solutions in key application areas, including customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain management (SCM).
“We are committed to protecting our customers’ software application investments through continued enhancement of all our existing software platforms, while developing new products, features and delivery capabilities. Aptean will maintain world-class customer support with efficient and effective implementation services.”
Over the last decade CDC Software has bought a number of companies to create a suite of on-premise and cloud enterprise products, some of which, like Pivitol CRM – a Microsoft independent software vendor — and Respond EFM, are still marketed under their original names.
Channel partners who sell Aptean’s solutions include Linxoft Solutions Inc. of Coquitlam, B.C., OnPath Business Solutions of Ottawa, Gestisoft of Montreal and Burntsand Inc., a division of OpenText Corp. of Waterloo, Ont.
