Dell opens enterprise support center in Malaysia

Dell Inc. Thursday announced the opening of a centre in Penang, Malaysia, that will provide support to enterprise computing and storage customers in South Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

The Dell Malaysia Enterprise Command Center (ECC) is the third such facility that the company has set up in Asia, joining similar centres in Japan and China. In addition, Dell has set up two other such facilities, one in the U.S. and one in Ireland, the company said in a statement.

The ECCs are used by Dell to manage support and logistics operations and to monitor factors such as weather and traffic patterns that can affect them, the company said. The centres allow Dell to track customer support requests, as well as the current locations of technicians and stores of spare parts, it said.
