Sprint Canada

has announced the success of a series of Y2K voice interoperability telephony tests, conducted in conjunction with all other Year 2000 International Telecom Forum (ITF) members.

The members, including Deutsche Telekom, France Telecom, Global One, Sprint and Telefonos de Mexico, participated in the six-day testing, conducted in laboratories around the world. By simulating their voice network configurations in the labs, the companies were able to create true reflections of the software and equipment ready for use in the new millennium. The labs were interconnected by standard voice connections, and the results indicated that equipment from all ITF participants will function appropriately during and after critical Y2K dates.
