BroadVision, Intel announce alliance

BroadVision Inc. and Intel Corp. this month announced an alliance that will mesh the e-commerce software maker’s technology with Intel-based servers. The alliance will seek to provide customers with a better price-performance ratio than their competitors, the companies said in a statement. Intel and BroadVision will commit substantial engineering, professional services, sales and marketing toward that goal, they said. Under the terms of the alliance, the two companies will optimize BroadVision’s suite of applications on Intel’s current and future 32-bit processors as well as deploy BroadVision’s suite of business applications on Intel-based products. BroadVision also will develop a version of BroadVision One-to-One Enterprise for the Intel 64-bit Itanium processor. BroadVision One-to-One Enterprise allows companies the ability to identify customers or visitors to their Web sites, assemble and analyze information about them and then offer targeted products or services, according to the company.
