Critical Path Inc. has announced a suite of secure messaging services designed to help enterprises protect information assets such as engineering drawings, financial documents and legal agreements transferred over the Internet. Critical Path is offering three new secure Web-mail services based on the Secure Socket Layer standard. The so-called InScribe Secure File Services include: Web Courier, which enables users to send secure messages via a Web browser; Virtual Hard Drive, which allows users to store documents in private or public folders on the Web and access them from a Web browser – up to 10MB of storage is included in the regular monthly fee; Team Workspace, a file sharing and collaboration service that offers document management, version control, access control and discussion groups. When taken together, the InScribe services cost between US$8 and $15 per user, per month depending on the number of users. The InScribe services ride on top of Critical Path’s regular Web mail, which costs $5 per user, per month plus an initial set-up fee. Additional fees ranging from $7.50 to $12 per user, per month are charged for the use of encryption or digital certificates through the InCase Certified File Service.
