RIM and Wi-LAN make peace

Research in Motion and Wi-LAN announced today that they have settled their pending patent litigation.

The settlement has resulted in Research in Motion’s getting a license to “certain patents of Wi-LAN in the area of wireless technology,” according to the Wi-LAN press release. The litigation between the two will be dismissed.

The rest of the deal’s terms were not released.
