PeopleSoft launches new CRM tool

PeopleSoft Inc. announced Monday it plans to ship the latest iteration of its customer relationship management (CRM) tool later this month.

Dubbed PeopleSoft CRM 8.8, the product tackles a market demand for CRM solutions that are faster to implement, easier to use, and that enable smart business processes, the Plesanton, Calif.-based company said.

Reducing complexity is what customers want right now, according to Joe Davis, vice-president and general manager, PeopleSoft CRM.

CRM 8.8’s “improved” interface will require a maximum of just three clicks to complete tasks, he added.

PeopleSoft CRM 8.8 includes new features and functionality to its sales, marketing, and service suite of applications, Davis said, adding that the analytic capabilities have also been enhanced, enabling customers to deploy “smart” business processes – enterprises can better match products and services to the right customers and prospects.

Featuring “out-of-the-box functionality,” CRM 8.8 offers a extensive multi-channel framework for unifying customer interaction channels including phone, Web, e-mail, chat, correspondence and other customer contact channels, PeopleSoft said.

PeopleSoft has also added three new solutions – CRM for High Technology, CRM for Insurance and CRM for Energy – into the firm’s CRM industry portfolio, which also includes CRM for Financial Services, CRM for Communications and CRM for Government.
