Feds buy into IT research

Federal departments and agencies can now access IT research and trends through a buy-in agreement with Toronto-based Meta Group Canada.

The agreement, established between Public Works and Government Services Canada and Meta, allows any department or agency that buys a seat from the company to access the consulting firm’s written IT research.

The information available includes: insight into trends and practices; bulletins analysing industry events or announcements; and monthly notes providing analysis of industry developments, vendor products, IT strategies, and technology and process issues.

“For the smaller government departments and agencies, this agreement provides access to information at a price they can afford,” said Ian Stark, Meta’s vice-president and senior manager. “For the larger departments, it reduces the amount of money they need to spend on research or it provides greater access.”
