HP wins large Microsoft help centre contract

Microsoft Corp. has granted Hewlett-Packard Co. (HP) a contract to supply centralized end-user technical support to 61,000 Microsoft employees, vendors and contractors, the companies announced Monday.

HP will provide technical support for Microsoft’s new enterprise software products in up to 68 countries, the companies said in a statement. Terms for the “multiyear, multimillion dollar” global services contract were not disclosed.

HP, headquartered in Palo Alto, Calif., has for the past two years provided help desk call centre support for 11,000 of Microsoft’s employees, vendors and contractors in 35 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, HP and Microsoft said.
