Dennis Best Design has released Studio Boss 3.0, a billing and job tracking application for Mac OS X. The software is aimed at freelance creative professionals looking for a way to keep track of what they’re working on.
Developed using Filemaker Pro’s engine, Studio Boss is a standalone application that enables you to store, sort, and manage projects for design, video and photography. The software also features the ability to attach files or folders to jobs, stores FTP and site passwords, tracks tasks, imports data from other sources, exports to Excel spreadsheet formats, and more. You can also track client info, activities and expenses, and generate invoices. It carries a price of US$40.
If multiuser network support is important for you, Studio Boss Pro is also an option — it runs natively in Filemaker Pro, and enables more than one user to access the database over the network. Its price is US$75.
If you’re already a Studio Boss user, changes from the last major release include the ability to store photo and video clips, report previews, and the ability toggle the Status area. Minor fixes and feature changes have been made as well. A separate update price is available.
