Vancouver-based telecom giant Telus Corp. has announced its partnership with Nominum Inc. to utilize the naming and addressing solution provider’s new IP-application Routing Directory (IPRD).
Telus will use Redwood City, Calif.-based Nominum’s IPRD, which it calls Navitas, to grow its wholesale interconnect and peering business in its move away from its legacy TDM network to IP.
In moving to IP-based call routing, Telus said it saw significant growth in its wholesale interconnect business in Canadian, North American and international voice traffic. With Nominum’s Navitas, the company will be able to further its call and session routes, resulting in reduced interconnect costs, simplified operations and new sources of revenue.
