SAP on Tuesday said it was putting some money into a Montreal-based software developer as part of a deal to help well its workforce management products.

The German business applications provider did not disclose how much it was investing in Nakisa, a six-year-old firm which makes so-called human capital management (HCM) software. The two firms said Nakisa’s product has been integrated with SAP’s ERP HCM software and will be sold under the name SAP Talent Visualization by Nakisa.

The software is designed to help companies deal with succession planning and organizational management through “what if” scenarios, according to the two firms

SAP said it made the investment as part of its NetWeaver Fund, which is set up to assist partner ISVs. Nakisa was an early adopter of SAP’s Duet software, which was co-developed with Microsoft.
