Rumours about Research in Motion Ltd. are once again flying around. Reuters has cited an unnamed source “familiar with the matter” who claims RIM is about to sell off NewBay, a company it acquired last October that provides cloud-based content delivery services (including, especially significantly for RIM, messaging).
Rumours aren’t always bad for business, though. When the prospect of IBM Corp. buying out the Waterloo, Ont.-based company was raised, RIM’s stock prices jumped a bit.
