Canadian CIOs’ biggest cloud computing concerns

Security may be the biggest reason Canadian chief information officers keep some or all of their data and IT infrastructure out of public cloud computing environments, but it’s certainly not the only reason.

As shown here from our recent CIO Canada research report, The State of Cloud Computing in Canada, our more than 200 respondents weighed in on a number of potential considerations that factor into cloud computing decisions. These and many more issues are discussed in an on-demand Webcast where I go through the findings in more detail and discuss the implications with John Weigelt, national technology officer with Microsoft Canada and Bill Dupley, chief solutions officer at HP. Register now and have a complimentary copy of the 16-page report sent to you via e-mail.

In creating this infographic I’ve had to shorten a few of the concerns. To clarify: by “slowlesss,” I’m referring to overall performance of cloud services. By “too early,” I’m referring to what is sometimes considered the general immaturity of cloud offerings in Canada and by “customizing” I’m talking about the inability to adapt some cloud services to unique business needs.
