SAP puts former Business Objects CEO on board

SAP has followed up its acquisition of a business intelligence provider by putting one of its Canadian-born leaders on its executive board.

The Waldorf, Germany-based firm on Monday said John Schwartz would be the ninth member of its senior management team. The former CEO of Business Objects is now responsible for go-to-market activities and integration of the Business Objects product line into SAP’s software portfolio.

Schwarz joined Business Objects in September 2005 as its CEO, and during his tenure oversaw seven strategic acquisitions, and drove revenue growth to more than U.S. $1.5 billion.

Schwarz holds a diploma in business administration from the University of Toronto and a degree in computer science from the University of Manitoba. In 2004, he received an honorary PhD from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, SAP said.
